Today (December 2nd), a heavyweight news came from the US political arena - Ohio Republican Senator Bernie Moreno officially proposed the Exclusive Citizenship Act of 2025, the core content of which is that the United States will no longer allow dual citizenship.
According to the content of the bill:
All existing dual nationals must choose between two within one year;
Americans who obtain foreign citizenship will be considered as automatically renouncing their US citizenship. The Department of State and the Department of Homeland Security will establish a specialized system to record individuals who have lost their US citizenship;
Those who fail to declare on time are considered to have voluntarily renounced their US citizenship.
